Florida A&M University To Offer Scholarships For Women In Technology

FAMU has been granted, no pun intended, money to fund African American women wanting to pursue a degree in computer Science and Information Technology. The program, entitled African-American Women in Computer Science, (AAWCS), is a four-year program that provides scholarships and other assistance to women who express a financial need and an interest in computer science or information technology.

According to the press release, with a dearth of women going into science fields, the program hopes to increase the number or women graduating in Computer Science. Right now the number stands at 3.3%
